Gold Canyon Lions Club
of Gold Canyon, Arizona
We
are a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs. We were chartered
in May 1999 and became a 501-c3 Corporation in 2006. Our club meets at noon for
lunch at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort Preview Center on Kings Ranch Road in Gold
Canyon on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, October through April.
Lions Clubs International Mission Statement
To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for
humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement
and international cooperation.
Gold Canyon Lions Club Mission Statement
To serve our community by volunteering our time and providing financial
assistance, particularly as related to sight and hearing, to the physically
challenged, underprivileged, elderly, and youth of our local communities and,
where appropriate, internationally in accordance with the mission of Lions Club
International.
Gold Canyon Lions Club Objectives
We are a service club of men and women dedicated to helping those in our
community who are living with sight and hearing challenges. In addition, our
club currently supports:
The Lions Arizona Camp Tatiyee for physically challenged children and
adults
Scholarships for Apache Junction School District students
The Apache Junction Food bank and Project Help
Help for needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas
Values training at local schools
Student ID's for elementary grade students at Gold Canyon and Peralta
Schools
Leader dog training and assistance for the visually challenged
Arizona Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation
Eye exams and glasses for needy families
Battered women (CAFFA)
Lions Club International Fund for worldwide disaster
